Your Weakness

Knowing your weakness helps discover your strength.

Watch me as I discuss my September blog.

We all have weaknesses, but that’s not a bad thing. First, what does weakness mean? It’s “the state or condition of lacking strength”. We should be aware of our weaknesses but not afraid of them. Being aware of our weaknesses allows us to know what we need to work on, or who to surround ourselves with who may be stronger in the areas that we are weak. It’s how we should learn to collaborate. Being weak is nothing to be ashamed of, if anything it shows us our humility and keeps us humbled. If we were strong in everything, there would be no reason to trust in our higher power. God has all power in His hands, and His grace is sufficient to help us in our weakness.

God can allow us to overcome our weakness if He chooses. We are supposed to confess and know that we are not the source of our strength, but God is. If we boast, we should boast about our God, not ourselves. Therefore, we should rejoice in our weakness and allow God to meet us where we are and welcome His gift of strength and power.

Just as we have weaknesses, we also have strengths. We have been given different gifts, talents and strengths that others may not have. These strengths are meant to glorify God and to help be a productive member of our society. Our strengths should never be used as a way to look down on others, but to instead reach out our hands to help someone who is weaker in the areas that we are strong. It’s the opportunity to come together, unite, depend on one another and our different resources to have successful outcomes in life.

Do me a favor, and please embrace your weaknesses as well as your strengths, as they make you stronger than you think.
